Woodward County Free Fair

2020 Dates: August 26th-29th

2020 Woodward County Free Fair Update

Woodward, July 21, 2020 – The Woodward County Fair Board has voted to cancel all INSIDE open, 4H/FFA, and OHCE exhibits, TAP Olympics, as well as the statewide judging contest at the 2020 Free Fair.

The Woodward County Fair Board met Monday, July 20th, at their regularly scheduled meeting to discuss finalizing fair rules and details. After much discussion regarding the fair participants and volunteers that fall under the most vulnerable population, the board concluded to cancel all inside open, 4H/FFA, and OHCE exhibits. This decision was not an easy one to come to, but the board felt it imperative to protect our most vulnerable population from possible exposure to COVID-19.

Additionally, the board voted to cancel the 2020 Free Fair statewide judging contest. In the last year, this contest brought in approximately 400 students from across the state of Oklahoma. While considering the health risk that such a widespread-contest would be putting the students as well as the community in, the board could-not in good conscious host this year’s contest.

The updated 2020 Fair Schedule will be as followed:
Livestock Show: August 26
Horse Show: August 27
Barn Quilt Class & Corn Hole Tournament: August 29

The board looks forward to resuming all events of the Woodward County Free Fair in 2021.
